Schedule a thorough dusting session of your home at least once a week, and make sure that there are no surfaces left untouched. Also, remember to use a damp cloth that will help trap dust and allergens and prevent them from floating in the air.

Leave shoes outside. While this may not be a common practice, leaving your shoes outside will certainly help. When you’re outside, it’s hard not to step on pollen and other allergens. It can even cling to your hair and clothes. To make sure that you’re not bringing pollen into your home, keep shoes outside the door or in the garage. As soon as you enter, quickly shower and change clothes to remove any pollen from your hair and body.

However, make sure that the filters that you choose are the right fit for your HVAC system.

We had our AC go out on one of the hottest days of the year.
