Matt adheres to a simple quote: “I ask myself; would an idiot do that? If the answer is yes, I do not do that thing,” Dwight Schrute. When it came to opening a heating and air business (January 2019) while at the same time owning a thriving roofing company (Pressure Point Roofing, Inc.) he looked at how those companies could support and help each other was a huge factor but, the driving force behind starting Stone Heating and Air was simply based on seeing an opportunity to provide better customer service for those who needed heating and air conditioning help.
Matt has spent a lot of time with those with experience in the trade, talking with the manufacturers, and studying to learn what and how the best heating and air conditioning companies do to provide the best customer experience. He feels one of his strengths is the ability to think through a problem and create a solution, whether it is a process for the office to facilitate faster service, helping a technician think outside the box in diagnosing an issue, or finding a solution to a part availability problem.
Delivering great experiences is based on trust. Building trust starts with truly listening to our customers and our employees. It moves to creating solutions that don’t just satisfy a need but exceed expectations, then repeating that daily with everyone in the company participating. That will build relationships that extend well beyond the business of heating and air.
Matt served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Adelaide, Australia Mission. He has continued his service in various leadership roles within the church, including his current position as a Bishop. Matt is a recognized member of the Rogue Valley community, having served on the Eagle Point School Board since 2020, and has been a Vistage group member since 2020.
Matt serves on Ferguson’s HVAC dealer advisory committee, providing input from a Carrier Dealer’s perspective with the supplier and manufacturer. He still owns Pressure Point Roofing, Inc., the company’s CEO and Visionary, and interacts with the employees daily. With all the business success Matt has had, his greatest successes are his home life and family. At Stone Heating and Air and Pressure Point Roofing, the motto is “Do it Right, Make it Right, Do it Better.” Matt’s leadership embodies this commitment to quality and excellence, driving the company to new heights.
