Type of unit. If you’re replacing an entire HVAC system, the type of unit that you’re installing can also have a significant effect on the total cost of the heating or AC repair. Remember that if you opt to get a high-end unit or the contractor will be working on a high-end unit, they may charge you a lot more.

We had our AC go out on one of the hottest days of the year.
